Ordinarily, I don't enjoy living on a wildlife preserve for various types of water fowl. It's less lovely than you'd think. They shit everywhere and don't seem to ever learn that they cannot digest grass. Plus, when you're drunk, being hissed at by a large goose is actually quite terrifying.

But it's spring, and they've been nesting and having little baby birds, and though I don't usually get overexcited about things like this, oh my god, they're so cute! Everywhere you go on campus, there are little ducks and geese and swans (baby swans!) and animals of an unidentified birdy nature. The downside is they're quite territorial, but so long as you don't get too close, it's all good. Amusingly, one of the geese bit a Baroness last week after thinking she was after its young - ha!

Photomographs of the little baby animals! )

I have a 4500 word essay due tomorrow, which I have in no way started, so naturally I am catching up with LJ and watching Anne of Green Gables: The Continuing Story (why did they more or less invent a storyline instead of following the books?).

I'm sure we can all be proud of the fact that I have recovered from my rather impressive hangover. So, St. Patrick's Day...

Evidently, I had a fantastic time )

In essence, there were many drunken frolics and a good time was had by all those who bothered to turn up. Hurrah!

And now, the photos from that meme I posted the other day.

Pretty pictures under here )

York is the most beautiful place on the face of the planet. Seriously. I can't believe how much I love it already! Obviously, the trip was a good one. We really only had a day in York but we managed to fit in everything we needed to do. I went and checked out the archaeology building (so gorgeous!), then walked from town to the main campus just to see how long it actually took (quite a while, but there was a shorter way than the one we took, and the bus seemed fairly regular) and had a bit of a poke around Wentworth (the hall I'm hoping to stay in).

That all done we did a teeny, tiny bit of shopping (I bought some clothes from H&M and Devil May Cry for the PS2) before embarking on an historic pub crawl. Completely legitimate. We were in the tourist information office and there was a little booklet giving details on York's historic pubs and suggesting a route for a pub crawl. You have got to appreciate a town that has a drinking tour =D We didn't manage to make it to all the pubs on the list, but we gave it a damn good shot *g*

Some photos, oh yeah! )

And now all I have to do is catch up on all my e-mails and LJ. Easy!
