There's a new fic up at speedsicle which features the following line:

“I am two inches away from snapping and raping you until you learn to enjoy it, you closeted buffoon.”

Now, the paragraphs preceeding that sentence hadn't been great but that sentence made me stop reading right away. Two hours later it has a few comments which run along the lines of 'I LOVE THIS FIC!!!' which I'm quite stunned by. Are JP/Bobby fans so starved for fic that they're willing to think of a line like that as lighthearted romance?

In other news, I was on the early this morning and went for a nap when I got home. When my alarm went off I panicked, thinking that I had slept in for the shift that I had already worked... Oh well, at least I plotted out a J2 story this morning. As for this evening, it's voting time, baby!

NORTHSTAR IS JOINING THE X-MEN AGAIN!!!

(And he maybe has a boyfriend in the panels where he decides to rejoin the team? Which might imply that Marvel aren't scared of sexualising him. But which also means that Bobby's going to have a hard time getting in his pants. Well, not that Marvel are ever going to go down that road, and I actually don't know what title Bobby's even in at the moment. Or what Jean-Paul's been up to since he was reanimated (apart from punching Anole in the face. I caught that bit.). Fuck me, I need to catch up on my comics. Tell me what I should be reading, oh lovely comic fans on my friends' list!)

It's been absolutely ages since I posted the first part of this fic, but I've been meaning to go back to it. I actually wrote this part, part two, quite some time ago, but floundered when it came to the third part which will resolve the whole thing. Somehow. See, the thing is, I'm still not sure how to resolve the story, so maybe posting the middle part will force my brain to come up with something!

( Rumours, Part Two of a Projected Three )

LJS-types, I have a quick question for yoooouuuuuu. I've just finished updating The LJS Cover Resource for the first time in ages. There are some better quality scans (including the fantastically trippy 1989 NotS cover) and some new scans, and I've added a new section 'Miscellaneous Scans' which contains ads for the book, that magazine article from yonks ago and the cover of the TVD game.

Now what I'm wondering is this: several of the books have different/aditional pictures either on the back cover or on the inside of the front cover. For example, there's a great image of what looks like Elwyn wearing a colander on the back on the 1989 NotS. Should I scan the back covers of all the books, or just the ones with extra/vaguely interesting images? Where should I put these scans? In with the current cover scans, in a section all of their own, or as part of the miscellaneous section?

Advise me please =D

Also, Happy Canada Day (the Canadian Big Brother housemate just did a heart-warming version of the first three lines of the anthem). Not only is it Canada Day (like that wasn't enough!), it's International Northstar Day (or rather it was when I started typing this entry). Hurrah!!

And then, just as I was about to surrender myself to sleep, the conference announcing/confirming IRA disarmament started, and I ended up stayed awake for ages with my blood pressure rising all the time *grumble, growl* And now, just to futher the indignity of it all - I have to go to work! Pfft!

Yes, so, I found the piece of paper that I scribbled my original version of my Otter-Pop ficlet down on and thought I'd share it with you. I actually couldn't find it when I wrote the version I've already posted, which is why they're quite different. I like things about both versions, but I think this one steals my heart for its simplicity =D

Bobby had pondered the meaning of the seemingly casual and meaningless comment. Otter Pop? An otther that was a pop? An otter that went pop? Was he the otter? Or maybe the pop? Finally, tinged with desperation, he had googled it.

Bobby's jaw dropped as the page loaded. "Oh my god!"

This, well, I'm not entirely sure where I was going with it. I know what I wanted to get across, but I don't know if I managed to do it >.< On that note, comments are absolutely welcomed and I'd love to know what you thought I was trying to get across! (My introductions are getting better and better, aren't they *g*)
